Slippers for Ronald MacDonald HouseA request was made from the Red Deer Ronald MacDonald House for some nitted slippers for parents staying at the home. The Olds Lions Club donated the cost the yarn for the nitting. Henry's Christmas Dinner 2019On December 25th, an annual event of providing a Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day to anyone in the Town of Olds who did not have a place to go for dinner. This annual event is continued as a joint project in on honour of Henry Sonnenberg by the Olds Lions Club and the Olds Royal Canadian Legion Branch #105. This year there were about 370 meals were served, most at the Legion but a number delivered to those unable to travel. Donations of food and funds by local businesses and individuals makes the event possible. As well this year a number of toys and teddy bears were donated and handed out to any of the children that attended with their parents. |
